Congress seems set to avert weekend government shutdown

There are 43 comments on the WBT-AM Charlotte story from Dec 7, 2017, titled Congress seems set to avert weekend government shutdown. In it, WBT-AM Charlotte reports that:

Congress seems set to prevent a weekend government shutdown, but lawmakers and President Donald Trump still have longer-range disputes to settle over spending, immigration and other issues before they can declare budget peace. With many on both sides deciding a headline-grabbing federal closure would be a political blunder - at least for now - the House planned to approve legislation Thursday financing federal agencies through Dec. 22. The Senate seemed ready to follow.

Documents don't mean jack. It's the people who defend what they say. It's the code of honor and the dedication to do the right thing at the right time and for the right reason.

The fundamental problem here is your casual acceptance that people are "evil" as a choice. NOBODY is evil by choice. They just have bad views, based on bad experiences. You're one of them. Either you will fight the accusation that you're a xenophobe or you address my concern. That is how this goes. I've been through this too many times to indulge tedious platitudes.
The document that our entire country and system of government doesn't mean jack? It's only of the most important documents in the history of mankind so please don't be so quick to poo-poo it.

If said document didn't mean jack, no one would bother with the code of honor or doing "the right thing". That argument just doesn't make sense.

Evil (or whatever term you choose to use) IS a choice. People with those "bad experiences" can go one of two routes, take the easy way which is to robe, steal, and cheat, or the hard way which is to pick yourself up and do what it takes to change your situation.

No one gave me what I have. No one just presented me with a decent life, I WORKED FOR IT and maybe if those you choose to defend were to not constantly be looking for the easy way, they could have the same.

Your trouble is that you continue to make excuses for these people, and you know that they say about excuses......

It's on the back of your EBT card. What's fooling you is the word savings.

I have no idea what's "on the back of (an) EBT card."

But you claim that you do. How so? So there's that.
