That's because you simply cannot pretend that God does not exist without eventually going insane. You can only believe and live a lie so long, afterwards madness sets in. Atheists are evil and wicked. All school , mall, venue , workplace shooters are atheists or were infested with atheistic ideas. And in some cases they are anti-Christians such as the Texas church shooter. I'm just glad he was killed and is in Hell right now burning alive.

Bill Maher will eventually be in Hell to burn alongside with George Carlin, Hitchens, etc. And I can't wait to hear that Richard Dawkins will be dead. I was really hoping he was going to die last year with a heart attack.

These atheist preachers are simply showing us proof that atheism is a religion of hateful people for hateful people.

The English word atheist didn't emerge until the 16th century. Historian Geoffrey Blainey wrote that the Reformation paved the way for atheists by attacking the authority of the Catholic Church, which in turn, "quietly inspired other thinkers to attack the authority of the new Protestant churches". This gave rise to the Age of Enlightenment.

Before the Age of Enlightenment the modern concept of "atheist" applied to anyone that didn't believe in the same God you believed in. And history shows that millions (if not billions) of people were killed in the name one God or another.

"I have observed that the world has suffered far less from ignorance than from pretensions to knowledge. It is not skeptics or explorers but fanatics and ideologues who menace decency and progress. No agnostic ever burned anyone at the stake or tortured a pagan, a heretic, or an unbeliever." - Daniel J. Boorstin, American historian and author (1914-2004)

REAL DEAL HOLIFIELD....REAL DEAL HOLIFIELD.

Nothing phantasmagorical whatsoever.

Can't say the same thing for the imaginings of all you atheists however.

I would be a fool to agree with you all .

" The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." ---- Psalm 14 KJV.

P.s. Even if those that post on Topix haven't done 'abominable' things, to ignore that they do go on, or to pin it all on fallen Christians,(who may not even be Christians anyway but infiltrator's ,) is to ignore what's been going on in the real world; and is also incorrect. There are people who do terrible things to appease Lucifer, and do terrible things for their own sake, but be assured that there is a real day of coming judgment under, and by a real Godhead.
There's no Holifield, it's Holyfield. I remember Holyfield going on TBN and talking all that Jesus stuff with those fake TV evangelist , he gave millions to Creflo Dollar who was another television prosperity preacher. I kind of liked Holyfield but with the phony TV evangelist, divorces, mistresses, children from extramarital affairs during his marriages, dodging child support payments, etc., just seemed to be the usual nutty Christian hypocrisy.

....and a " may have been" Serapis "turns out to be as credible as Mithra,,,,, complete Horus shyt.

....and Paul never says to lie. Is there any end to the anti Christian smear campaign ?
You should re-read what I presented. It actually corrects your statements.

Josephus' christ passage is a forgery. But if you want him to be an authority for who is real or not, he mentions Hercules multiple times, does that make him a real being as well?

Pliny wrote about a different sect. Unless your god is Serapis. Osiris was also called not only Christos but also styled "Chrestos," centuries before his Jewish copycat Jesus was ever conceived.

In the 5th century, John Chrysostom in his "Treatise on the Priesthood, Book 1," wrote, "And often it is necessary to deceive, and to do the greatest benefits by means of this device, whereas he who has gone by a straight course has done great mischief to the person whom he has not deceived."

If you think it's possible to determine the accuracy of a copy without comparing it to the original you have lost your ability to think about it logically.

"[Fundamentalist] Christians base their convictions on the belief that the Bible is God's word; it is immutable; it is actually what God himself said and what God meant to say. And of course they know exactly what it means. For many of them, there's no need to think about it - much less allow for interpretation - since its meaning is obvious and simple." - Elaine Pagels, Professor of Religion at Princeton University.

Bart Ehrman is considered one of the leading scholars in his field, having written and edited 30 books, including three college textbooks and five New York Times bestsellers.

"The Bible is filled with discrepancies, many of them irreconcilable contradictions. Moses did not write the Pentateuch…we don't have the original copies of any of the biblical books but only copies made centuries later, all of which have been altered." - Bart Ehrman

These data are often based on census or public opinion data.2 A person is considered to be of a particular religion if they say that they are of that faith. Thus, as of 2015, about 70% of the adults in both the U.S. and Canada are Christians. The U.S. number is gradually declining about 1 percentage point per year, even though the total population of the U.S. is increasing.

If Christians really knew they had the correct interpretation of the New Testament there wouldn't have been so many Christian religious wars especially between Protestants and Catholics. The Protestant reformation lead to the creation of an incredible amount of Christian denominations each with a different interpretation than the next, people will try to minimize it by saying oh it was only slight differences but really it resulted in millions of deaths of Christians killing each other. Changing practices, interpretations, rituals, loyalty to a denomination over the next, rulers supporting either one Christian doctrine or interpretation and Church over the next leads to religious wars, violence and death.

Sectarian wars have been integral part of Abrahamic religions just look at the violence between Shia and Sunni's in the Islam religion.

Humanity has very limited choices, and even an agnostic gets caught in the crosshairs at some point and perhaps the more peaceful religions have to be supported over the more primitive and brutal ones, and truthfully it's not that Christianity is shrinking that much it's more that Islam is increasing exponentially, as a result of polygamous marriages and the amount of offspring from each polygamous family. I would choose Christianity over Islam any day excluding Christian fundamentalism.

Let's talk of New Testament texts.

Particularly the gospels.

Mark, written in the early 70's, is the first surviving gospel.

Mathew and Luke followed a decade or so later.

Both Mathew and Luke are rewrites of Mark.

A few scholars quibble over who stole from whom.

It doesn't matter; these texts are called the synoptic gospels for a reason: They are interdependent, with New Testament writers stealing from other New Testament writers and reworking the texts they are relying on.

In other words, the New Testament itself is evidence of the shifting sands of the texts it ultimately canonized.

Rewrites of Mark before the eyes of the disbelieving believers -- in their own canon.

Blame war on religion? Look at history and the ones in power and you will find those wars at root were about greed and power over others not about one religion overriding others. Those men may have used religion as an excuse but none were doing things because they were religious.

Look at the communists genocided they did not have to be religious they were a threat to a dictators power and money. Religion was often used as an excuse. Even the crusades was about money greed and land. Why did the Pope attempt to wipe out the Templars?

You know those wealthy bankers that looted the Holy lands. Because they would not give the money to him and the king. Religion taught the opposite of what man did. Then they tried to hide it and change its teaching

It is all about money feeding a greedy few at the top.
