Last lap for Redwood Roller Rink
After some 50 years, the Redwood Roller Rink will be giving its patrons a few last laps during a 12-hour public skate Saturday before it closes its doors for the last time. Known as a hub for family entertainment and one of the last remaining training facilities for roller skaters in the Bay Area, the rink's closure signals the end of an era for those who frequented it.

That is so sad that they are taking away the roller rink.I'm 71 and I used to skate there as a kid. Why are the city counsel doing this to our town? All I see is high rises and apartment buildings.I don't like it but I wasn't given a vote. I guess all the computer giants own us because we are such easy marks.I haven't seen anyone complain about all this building and taking away stores I used love to shop at.We've had enough change in Redwood city.Doesn't anyone else care?
