Hello Dear Melissa Pinion,

Regarding your story on August 4th 2010 there are some major developments that I would like to share with you if you have the time to briefly read the following.

On February in 2010 Donald Sanchez was shot and killed by the Adelanto police, namely, Jiles. I understand that the story posted is not a true reflection of what the outcome was as stated in the official police report, therefore I would like to share what the federal court found to be the actual results of the shooting.

The Sanchez family went to court and successfully sued the San Bernardino police department in federal court with a unanimous decision by the entire jury stating that Jiles was not cleared and justified. In fact Jiles was guilty in court for shooting and killing Jiles by the courts decision and thereby the family of Donald Sanchez won a compensation for their loss. Respectfully, is there any chance that you can update or correct the article in the "Pasadena star news?"... For clearing Donald's name in here horrific incident. The entire family has been through so much throughout these past five years that it would mean a great deal if you please would take the time to hear me out.
This is one of his sons, Gabriel and the loss of my father has deeply affected me personally, so much so that I cringe at these stories that portray my father as a criminal. He was a loving father of four who professionally worked in the operating room assisting in surgery. If you look into his life, yes he did have issues, but he did not deserve to get shot and killed. In court, they played an audio recording of the live shooting and after they shot him the officers could not find any gun on him because he never had a gun to begin with. Also, two witnesses testified stating that they both witnessed the shooting and his hands were not in his pocket when the officer shot him. That would make sense since there were two hand streaks of blood sliding down the side panel of the car.
Regarding that exact proof we possessed, Jiles said that his hands were in his pockets the entire time he shot him. He admitted that he shot his gun four times and three of those bullets struck Donald. One in the chest, one in the back, and one in the head. The court also found Jiles used excessive force in a manner that Jiles could have used a taser or other methods or tactics and that death is the last resort which is stated in the training manual for police officers.

Please please and please take a look at this and consider my email to you. It is of utmost respect for your profession as a writer that you take into consideration of the absolute truth. Please respond of possible. Thank you so very much. What I also want to say is that I have so much respect and honor for our police risking their lives to protect and serve this wonderful country, but like most Americans I am outraged when police officers use misconduct and abuse their given power against innocent people. The pain I still go through is unbearable at times knowing that my wife and I will eventually have kids of our own and they will grow up never having my father as their grandfather. I have been affected for life and I do not want anyone to ever experience to anguish losing a father at age 53. I want to personally let you know that in my heart I have forgiven Casey Jiles and understand that maybe he just had a bad day or something. Whatever the idea might have been for him all I know is that we won our case in court and they did NOT clear him of this charge against him. Thank you so much again Melissa!! I really appreciate your valuable time reading this post.

The Sanchez family won in court. The officer was NOT justified! Check the records for yourself! Jiles was guilty according to the entire jury panel.
