My store is doing miserable and not because a lack of effort. I have been placed in a model that has the pharmacy opened from 8-12am everyday and the front end from 8-12am everyday as well. The volume is high and the needs of pharmacy cannot be met. It is a formula for disaster but my store manager never steps foot in the pharmacy and the DM just comes in and adds pressure. At what point does somebody else step in? Are we to just suffer in silence? On top of everything whenever anybody is challenged, they are quick to remind you to know your place and follow your chains of command. What ever happened to our open door policy? Store all across the country are failing for poor leadership with managers and Dm’s And nobody is doing anything about it.

Wait frontier will help you out. If they follow the problem solving task building models you will be making baby steps at first but the end result will change the way challenges like you are having will be solved. No more top down management it starts with the employees. Make sure you use the quick wins board-it worked in my store. Give it a chance your DM and Manager will have to reprogrammed to adapt to it. Where are your trained DH's? Get them trained and work with the front of the store to loan them to you.
Oh just in case you do not know what frontier is-it is a new wave of thinking for Walgreens. Maybe an old way revisited. But it involves everyone in the store and everyone has a voice and plays an important part in the running of the store. You must be on the east coast where it is just being rolled out.

The store is an organism, the employees are her children, and the customer is her food.“Ahmmmm”“ahmmm” Feed her cash registers “ahmmm” clean her shelves “ahmmm” but her pharmacy is a virus “ahmm” ignore it “ahmm” let it suffer “ahmm”

Welcome to your programmed thinking, welcome to Frontier!

1. The needs of the pharmacy cannot be met.
2. The SM never sets door in the pharmacy.
3. The DM just adds pressure.
4. Stores across the country have poor leadership.

Corporate sets the tone. Does it sound like or look like they give a crap? They don't. The whole company is a joke.

I just went through this hell at my store for over a year. "At what point does somebody get involved?" The answer is never.

Hope the store manager quits or transfers.

Hate to say it, but unless SM gets religion this post is correct. It takes a ton of effort to get pharmacy self sustaining and pharmacists can't do it alone.

I guess you are one of the Frontier founders? Give me a break! Stores need sufficient budgets not post it notes on a board

I'm under the impression that there isn't one person in Walgreens' vast "we have the best people in the industry", who cares enough to get involved and address the problems that are on the front lines.
Look at the people they promote. They all rise to the level of their incompetence. They are all treading water. Nobody cares. They are putting out fires everywhere each and every day. Just finding people to hire with the mass exodus of employees is probably a full time job itself.
I'm guessing middle management just trys to make it through the day without getting inebriated, buying a fire arm to use on themself, looking for bridges or tall buildings or swallowing anti anxiety and anti depressives. You can bet most of them can't wait to get the Hell out of WBA - the trouble is, their current position doesn't mean Jack Crap at a real company.
