Our HR at 1875 in Atlanta always has her door closed and acts like anything you ask about is a big imposition. She always has time for her friends tho.

Our HR keeps her door closed and acts like it's a big imposition if you have any question. She likes to chit chat with her friends tho.

Not much different up here in the northeast. The HR reps are just glorified clerks...they do not get the point that they are supposed to represent the employees as well as the company...If a manager says it happened a certain way then that is how it happened..they are mostly inexperienced and in many cases this is their first HR position...we r their training ground and they are just management puppets..I am sure their are exceptions because of the sheer number of reps we r talking about..for the most part they lack backbone and will not stand up to management...apologies to the few who are actually experienced and have back bone.

I was once an HR for the company, my door was never closed and I took pride in representing the employees. The District Manager had a problem with it and informed the Store Manager that I was cuddling the employees. I really didn't care because I understood my responsibilities. Lowes wasn't my first rodeo in HR and my resume is very packed with experience. The AHRM was also in the pocket of the District Manager. Needless to say that I no longer work for Lowes, I resigned. When I informed the AHRM that I was resigning he was upset and shocked because I was one of the few HR's who knew my job and had experience. Since I have left, I have had no problems finding employment. Associates continue to reach out to me and they are miserable with the manner in which the store is being ran. My only regret is that I resigned and had to leave the employees behind.

You need to be a careful 'cuddling employees'. Could get you in trouble. Try 'coddling employees instead.:-)
