That would quite a trick in our area, no Lowe's is closer than 35 miles to each other as the crow flies, and the roads make it 1/2 again longer.

I would love to see this happen. Heck I'd want to skip alongside ours on her last trip out of the building.

Really? My MD doesnít talk to anyone at my store except for the store manager.

So Iím in agreement that this is a bullish!t story. It may happen but I donít think the MD would be sharing this with store CSAís at Lowes management doesnít mix with peons.

I completely agree. No Market director is gonna give information to anyone but the Store Manager. And, very often they don't tell them anything either until it is already happening. H/R ARE leaving, most of them. But, that will be up to the new CEO. He may stop the whole thing from happening who knows?

History is repeating itself folks... Remember how in December of 2016 all the ASM job postings were dropped from the system. The line that was toted then was ďweíre just cleaning up old Job postingsĒ. Then second week of January 2017 3000 ASMs weíre laid off?? Have we forgotten this already????

More hr jobs are posted today. Maybe this was just bad timing on the rumor and what has been posted. As for an md telling someone, maybe it was told to a store manager - no one said the original posters were csas.
Our md would tell our store manager. It would be huge to lose our hr because of our turnover and size of store. On that note, I believe they are changing the role of hr in the company but not in August of this year. It would fail. Not enough time for everyone to learn how to do payroll and the new Kronos. Someone said it would happen next year after spring hire and that sounds more likely.
Too many changes going on now and there needs to be time to prepare for those changes before ditching the hr.
I for one am not looking forward to losing an hr in the store. As a manager we already have to do more than ever before. I know most people on here think we just eat cheese balls in the back of the store but we are constantly doing reports and reports on reports. Things are done 3 ways to Sunday and adding on interviews, scheduling of interviews, scheduling, payroll, write ups and all that just takes me off the floor and away from my team.
If they want better engagement then they need to allow time for me to be on the floor so I can ENGAGE with my associates.
If not, then why even try to pretend they care about employee engagement at all.

Admin ASM or SSM will take on H/R duties. I cannot imagine the amount of extra work that managers do these days with the second rate associates being hired. A warm, barely educated, low paid and less skilled employee is gonna bring this company to it's knees.

That's what the new title will be rolling out in July. The Chicago program was a success since it dropped about 500k in payroll per Market.
