For years weíve been trying to get business, traffic, and downtown living here in our city. We finally do and now we want to kick them to the curve for political gains. Just amazing the idiots that get elected time after time. We the citizens donít want it and the tax burden that comes with it. Donít tell me itís coming from the government! Nothingís for free and donít improve what we allredy have. Build a hospital so another closes.

Our current hospitals are incredibly outdated. By decades. And "new wings" are just patch jobs on their crumbling foundations . So yeah we need a new hospital. We shouldn't have to travel to Rochester or New York City for decent healthcare.

Traveling to Syracuse, Rochester and New York City has nothing to do with the condition of our present hospital buildings. People seek out The best doctors for their problems. Unfortunately Utica does not draw the best doctors. Utica has nothing to pull them here. So we get what's left over after the good ones seek larger and more progressive cities. We need to foccus on what we can't offer these physicians and work to make our city a better place for them and their families to live in. Filling our city with refugees is not helping the situation. When will the citizens band together and put a stop to this practice.

They want to build a new Hospital in Utica. Why bother the same terrible worthless doctors will bring their rotten treatment to the patients, the death panels will just have a fancier and more efficient place to administer the drug overdoses to the elderly and poor.

yes quality will increase with the more money spent on hi tech medical equipment with the money put into the building as well but will be lost if not used for the tech support that we need for the money on labs as well for the overall docters partisipation on the project for other doctors too will have to wait and see if the project moves forword.

Get the best possible, regional medical center at the 64-acre campus... opposite Utica College with health and medical programs, adjacent to Slocum Dickson and the Utica Business Park! Build a new facility, then de construct what's not reusable of the old St. Luke's.

Do this and let the Downtown Utica that's coming back continue to do so. Don't kick out 40 plus businesses, bulldoze the older vacant buildings, this is the fabric that makes a city. Imagine a new wave of Danfoss/Nano workers and Executives... they'd want to participate in make Downtown Utica an amazing place.

Learn the truth, join the winning team that says no to the politicians's Downtown Utica hospital concept. We are at www.NoHospitalDowntown.com and www.BetterUticaDowntown.com

How is it possible that in the year 2018 Uticaís hospitals are so backward and obsolete as to not be able to treat a simple case of congestion? I patient would have better chances for survival in the 1800s in the Wild West then in Utica in 2018. Now they want a new hospital to continue their rotten medical treatment on the poor and elderly.

All respect to the post, but this is the obvious, common sense choice that has the best interests of all involved

The fact that this St Lukeís location was not selected and a decision that is being pushed comes without any transparency or justification shows the level of corruption and arrogance of our office holders.

When outsiders see this and when locals describe what itís like living here donít expect new businesses set up in Central NY and expect those that can will be leaving

Thanks Mr County Executive for the controversy and diversion of resources. EDGE will have busy work to do and people will keep leaving

A well earned raise .... pathetic

Yes - I agree that St. Luke's area is the best spot for the hospital. Research needs to be done to find out the reason for the push to place it downtown which has a higher price tag due to the parking garage. I'm sure it's because certain people will benefit monetarily from this. Destroying that section is absurd- people will not want to live in those apartments that they are building there and listen to the sirens all day and night and the traffic congestion. I am amazed that the plans have gotten this far. They should listen to the people of Utica - this is Not a good location for the hospital.

Are these the same people that pushed Nanno for the last twenty years! We all know how that turned out. I wouldn't let them pick a location for a dog pound much less a hospital .

The question is how they get elected?? Are the political machines and parties that inept? Is anyone competent?

You would think after so many failures there would be a housecleaning

Why even build a new hospital in Utica? The current ones are quite good at eliminating senior citizens. One of the tricks the Utica dilapidated hospitals use to get rid of the seniors citizens is to morphine them, then put them into comfort care room and dehydrate them to death, they call that way of death euphoric and wonderful and its to be celebrated in this wonderful American culture of death.

Itís not ever going to happen. So if itís between having a hospital thatís been built in our lifetimes or saving some decepit businesses like Bengees, sorry Iím being selfish and saying YES HOSPITAL DOWNTOWN.

The real truth and facts are:

This Hospital will never happen in Downtown Utica. There are going to be several Lawsuits from existing Business and Land Owners. There are several underground tanks in many of the areas where they say this Hospital is going. This will take several years to clean. The total cost for this is estimated to be around $1 billion dollars. Why don't people tell the truth and stop they lies. It will never happen in the City of Utica!!!! Right
