Massena Police need more money maybe the mayor will start a go fund me page instead of increasing taxes. Better yet get rid of the mandatory overtime and learn how to take care of the taxpayers equipment. Consolidate the town and the village quit spending start saving enough is enough.

They should be driving used priuses. And im not kidding. They are plenty fast enough and are the most reliable and one of the most fuel efficient cars you can get. This is tax payer money these people are spending not lottery winnings.
But no no, they buy gas sucking suvs that cost 5x the price of a used prius. And cost 5x as much to maintain. But you see a prius doesn't fit the image they are after. You can't look like a thug with blacked out windows with your black uniforms in a prius.
They might look a little more approachable and friendly in a prius as well. They use to wear nice blue uniforms and drive normal cars without tinted windows. Now they drive expensive suvs with blacked out windows and black uniforms. Who are these people making these decisions? Not to mention have you ever gone inside the police station? Its all one way mirrors. You can't even see who your talking to. That whole department is a hidden, tax payer money pit.

Dissolve the department. We got enough state troopers and border patrol sneaking around. But then again I'm from the town and think we should wall in the village, turn it into a mad max / snake plissken territory. Think of the PPV money we could make.

You are joking, right? How do you stuff the grossly obese shoplifters from Walmart in the back of one of those things?
If Massena wasn't full of scumbag drug addicted criminals, you wouldn't need more funding, would you?

From the article;
Chief Love said he was also concerned about cuts to his proposed contractual line item. He said that funding covers 22 items that are necessary to run the department, such as office supplies, computers, training, policy updates and uniforms.
Buy your own uniforms, everyone else everywhere does. What office supplies besides paper pens laser toner and staples do you need? You dont need new computers. Buy used ones. And not 1 year old used ones. 3 year old ones or older. Pay for your own training as part of keeping your job.
And policy updates? Unless a policy saves the taxpayer money you dont get to "update".
Pay your own healthcare, fund your own retirement, and drive your own cars. The pizza guy does and he lives on tips and minimum wage.
Too many leeches not enough fish.

Comparing a police officers job to a pizza guy is just idiotic.
