The 60's and 70's were the best! No one cared about having to wait for lanes (usually crowded), always people you knew there and games to play and food, really good fun food! Great place for the kids.

OK, I just went and tried the place.

I was leaning toward a meatball sub on the way over, but switched to an Italian Beef once I got there, and I'll tell you why.

Italian Beef is a very hard act to pull off. Once you get away from places that use either Scala's or Vienna Beef as their suppliers for the beef, it gets very iffy at best.

I've had some real messes that were called Italian Beef, and I've had the cream of the crop in Chicago, birthplace of the Italian Beef.

So I ordered.

Let me tell you first of all, this fresh baked roll they use is dangerous. Seriously, you could order just a few of those and do well. I thought it would be difficult to pull off an Italian Beef without Gonella Bread and I was wrong. It was a superb roll.

The beef......nothing but outstanding. I got a cup of juice to pour on the sandwich while consuming it, and the beef was tender, and zesty, it and the juice perfectly spiced.

The french fries are Chicago style, hand cut and non-crispy. What a lot of folks would call, "soggy", but that's the way they're supposed to be, and that's the wat they are, so be advised. I liked them.

The quantity of beef on the sandwich was adequate, but I'd like to see an "extra meat" option for a couple dollars more or whatever.

I'd also like to see the options of grilled onions, mozarella, and marinara on it, but beggers can't be choosers.

I'd highly recommend them, and I will certainly be going back.

I tryed the onion strings tonight, thinking they would be like onion straws or even onion rings, was nothing like either, good tasting, but not dipable in ranch or bar-b-q sauce, they need improvement, but everything else has been fantastic! Even the pineapple upside down cake was great! Doug next time try the meatball sub, it is great!

Great to be able to go to the local bowling alley for good food in the evenings. My only regret is I went monday night and they was closed, so I missed out that night and had to cook.

I shall down a meatball sub the next time.

It's 15 miles over there for me, but I think I'm going to find more reasons to enter Horseshoe Bend.

This place was terrible, we went for a BDay party. Ordered pizza which was not made when asked about it an hour later, they forgot. We were given two lanes together in which we were asked to throw at the same time. First bowl and the ball was stuck. We had a large group of people, four kids on each lane and the guy at the front threw a fit because we wanted to pay for it separately. It would let kids throw three times before letting the next person go. Had to change lanes for the older kids because it would eat the balls and not give them back. The service was terrible. The underworker was red-eyed and stupid acting. So much for a great BDay party. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Would rather drive further away to bowl!
