Maybe if jamestowns finest would actually work and not let the dealers rand the drunks take over and run the town and people would actually give a shit about themselves and teach their children to respect others this town might be worth saving but look around no one gives a shit about no one not even themselves that's why everyone is getting out and we are not far behind

Chautauqua county has been in a death spiral since the early seventies and there is NO end in sight, period!! We have gone from a strong manufacturing county to nothing but welfare and drugs!! Just keep in mind who has been running this city, the DEMOCRATS for the last 19 years!!

Chautauqua County used to be a very proud County. Lot of people don't know but Jamestown used to be the furniture capital of the world, kings and queens prominent movie stars used to come to Jamestown and purchase their furniture for their homes and palaces. Jamestown Sterling Bad Axe table company Crawford furniture and many many others are all gone. we used to make everything with the finest quality and workmanship in the world. now everything is nothing a sawdust and glue, hence one of the worst furniture manufacturing companies in the world Bush Industries. Blackstone Corporation used to make some of the finest most elegant appliances in the world. now is nothing more than a storage barn. But that is not I repeat that is not the reason why Jamestown is the way that it is today. we have amayor and we have had many mayors, that has done nothing but completely and utterly destroy the history of this once beautiful city. The destruction began with the destruction of Brooklyn Square. Now Brooklyn square is nothing more than big ugly gray concrete buildings. it is a horrible sight compared to what it wants used to be. They destroyed the history of Five Point, this was once an elegant area when you first came into Jamestown and you were able to split off in Five Points. Building after building at the building is being destroyed buildings that were once beautiful historical and Architectural structures in this city. They have destroyed the downtown district they think by putting in the ice arena the comedy Center and some others that this will revive the downtown district. These other morons at City Hall have no clue what it will take to make this city great again. I've been saying it since the 70s when I saw them take down the old city hall and put up this very ugly glass building that is just an eyesore. until Sam Teresa is out of office you won't see anything great coming into the city. the comedy Center the ice arena and absolutely no f****** parking whatsoever. Not to mention the people in the city cannot afford these fees that they are charging. There is no common sense none that exist within the politicians of the city and county anymore. Personally it doesn't matter because that's all this government is about it's about thinking without using your head.

If a legit history of Jamestown were written, transforming the Hotel Jamestown -- the namesake jewel of the downtown -- from office suites and expensive hotel rooms into subsidized housing for disabled people was a watershed moment.

That was the moment the city leadership decided it was better (easier?) to chase state and federal grant money instead of cultivating a business sector for the downtown. And it hasn't changed this philosophy since.

Imagine the Empire State Building being converted into 85 floors of Section 8 housing.... the people of New York would literally toss the city government into the East River.
