Did you know that there are many Francophone families in Georgetown? Okay, relatively speaking, we are not that many! I came from Quebec City 10 years ago and it seems I keep running into Francophones. I bought my first house from a Francophone real estate agent by pure chance, then I met my husband, and when he decided to join a softball league in town, half of his team was Francophone or married to one.

Halton Catholic District School Board trustees have voted to keep Early French Immersion,

rejecting a report by senior staff to phase out the pilot program.

After more emotional delegations Tuesday night, including one by eight-year-old Brooke Feth, a Grade 3 student at St. Mary CES in Oakville,

trustees decided to forge ahead despite staff concerns about a lack of qualified teachers and transportation costs as raised in its French Sustainability Study.
